About
Hello! ๐ I'm a software engineer based in Australia ๐ฆ๐บ, with a background spanning system administration, engineering, management, and founding a company.
I started out as an Apple-certified system engineer before moving into software engineering. My years at Apple left me with a deep appreciation for creative products and exceptional UX/UI design, along with a lasting habit of collecting unique keyboards โจ๏ธ, mice, and interesting gadgets or EDC/tactical gear.
I co-founded Aceworld Pty Ltd with my best friend Jason, building web apps for a range of startups ๐. We eventually closed the company after he moved to Montreal and the distance caught up with us, but we still share a keen interest in the craft of software development: methodologies, productivity, agile practices, and how tech teams actually work together.
These days my work focuses on frontend architecture in vanilla JavaScript and TypeScript. At Atlassian, I build and improve the components behind the WYSIWYG editor ecosystem โ๏ธ.
I'm always eager to explore new technologies ๐. GraphQL, HTMX, gRPC, WebAssembly, and Rust are the ones currently on my list.
If you're looking for someone who pairs technical depth with leadership experience, or you'd like to collaborate on any of the above, I'd love to hear from you. Feel free to book a time with me โ.
